How to Dig and Divide Your Plants
I recently wrote an article, 12 Free or Cheap Gardening Ideas. Idea #7 is to dig and divide the plants you already have. In the video, you’ll see just how easy it is to dig up and divide your perennial plants. I’ll show you how to dig up and divide your plants in the garden. You’ll be able to save money and have better garden plants, too!
It’s Really Easy!
It really takes just digging up the plant and cutting it into smaller sections. You may think that it is very difficult to actually dig up the plant. As you’ll see in the video, it is really easy! We use a shovel both to dig the plant and to cut it into smaller sections
After you cut the plant into smaller pieces, immediately plant the cut portions and water deeply. If you’re able to do it, try to dig during the spring before the plant has grown. If you can’t do it in the spring, do it in the fall, when the plant is getting ready to sleep for the winter. It won’t cost you anything more than your time, and your reward is more plants! This is an easy way to make your home more beautiful. It’s economical, it’s good for your plants because they bloom more after being divided, and it’s just a lovely way to enhance your home and life!
